Hello! I'm a new member, and I just want to introduce myself.
Let's see. Firstly, I LOVE Gerard Manley Hopkins. (As you can probably tell from my username!) He is the best poet in the world! (In my humble opinion, of course.) My favorite book is LotR, and I really like the two books I've read of Chesterton's. Some of my other favorite authors are Meriol Trevor and E. J. Edwards. Has anyone else read Edwards?
So I'm joining this forum join in in talking about three of the most important things in my life--poetry, literature, and the Catholic Faith!
I am interested in writing, and artwork, and media--pretty much everything that is discussed here on Dappled Things!
Well, thanks for reading!

Which two? Got any Man Who Was Thursday? I'll trade you for some Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

I do have Man Who Was Thursday. It's amazing! But I already have the Dawn Treader. Do you have any books about Hopkins you'd like to trade?

Heh, well, I don't know if he has any books on Hopkins, but he's a bit of a Hopkins nut himself (in case the name "firefolk" wasn't enough of a clue). In all seriousness, though, "firefolk" happens to be a wonderful poet whose sonnets have appeared in Dappled Things under the pseudonym "J.B. Toner" ("firefolk," of course, being his real name).
If you want to discuss some Hopkins or exchange names of books, I think Meredith wise is the person to contact. She's our Hopkins expert extraordinaire within the editorial board.

Thank you, Bernardo! I assumed Firefolk would have some books on Hopkins, but ones he's willing to trade. . . Wow, Firefolk, you're poems are beautiful. I especially like "The White Stone", and the line Three strands of hair from my Galadriel in "A Song for Caitlin" is amazing!
